Эта работа изображает то, как люди сделали одно из самых важных открытий в истории человечества и использовали его - огня.
В работе изображена сцена во время грозы. Дерево, в которое попала молния, загорелось. Люди в ужасе, но один из них, зная, какую пользу принесет его племени огонь, отважился взять горящую ветку и теперь бежит к пещере...
Общий вид работы. Изначально задумывалось сделать только горящее дерево, но затем пошло...

И ещё. Здесь хорошо виден пустырь между пещерой и горящим деревом.
Отважный первобытный человек, борющийся с суеверным страхом, но все же несущий горящую ветку, упавшую с дерева.
Вождь племени, который все же ожидает у входа в пещеру незадачливых охотников, попавших под грозу.
Горящее дерево поближе. Огонь готов перекинуться и на близко-стоящее дерево, и на траву с цветами.
